Annie’s Homegrown Gluten-Free Macaroni & Cheese
If you are new to the gluten-free world, finding your favorite foods can be a challenge. If one of you or your kid’s favorite foods is mac and cheese Annie’s Homegrown gluten free creamy deluxe rice pasta. I was talking to my husband the other day about what I should write my next post about, he said “anything I like”. I thought that’s a great idea! He is way pickier than I am, and he loves this product. I love mac and cheese; there was even a summer in high school where I ate mac and cheese every day. Annie’s version of the classic mac and cheese is delicious; we eat it about once a week at our house. Instead of the powder in a pouch, it has cheese sauce pre-made so all you have to do is cook the pasta and after it is drained mix in the cheese sauce it’s than ready to eat. The pasta retains its shape which if you have been dealing with gluten free pastas, you know is amazing in it of itself. Annie’s products are made in the USA, no artificial flavors, synthetic colors or preservatives. I love that this product actually has nutritional value! For a 1 cup serving, based on a 2000 calorie diet percentage daily values are:
- 6% of Vitamin A
- 15% of Calcium
- 15% of Vitamin B6
- 2% Iron.
Try adding this as a side dish rather than as the main meal or adding in your favorite veggies to give it more nutritionally dense. Red peppers and broccoli are awesome addition. This product is dairy heavy, so if you are avoiding dairy please skip this item. This is a wonderful product that will cure that craving for mac and cheese once and for all and keep the kids happy!
