Fast Gluten-Free Dessert Options

Do you need a gluten-free treat for your upcoming holiday party, but you just don’t have the time to bake? Or maybe you just don’t want to bake, then try a pie or cake from Bittersweet Bakery or Down in the Valley.

Bittersweet Bakery is a gluten-free bakery located in Eagan, Minnesota. Fresh and Natural has carried its products for years. Bittersweet bakery makes my favorite pecan pie.   Give me a fork and some whipped cream, and I am a happy girl. Have a carrot cake lover in the family?  Bittersweet’s carrot cake is a great addition to the dessert table. Looking for something just for one?   We also carry amazing banana crunch cake that would be great for a treat at a Christmas brunch along with one of my favorites for the holidays, the pumpkin bar.

Down in the Valley is a gluten and dairy-free bakery located in Burnsville, Minnesota.  They make a traditional pecan pie that is very good along with pumpkin and apple pies.  In addition to pies, they also make great cakes that come in Vanilla Celebration or Chocolate Celebration. The nice thing about these cakes is they are frosted all the way around so they are great for a birthday or holiday party.   If you just need something for one guest, Down in the Valley’s tarts are amazing and available in Pecan and lemon .

Want to make your own pie but don’t want to make the gluten-free crust?  Fresh and Natural Foods carries gluten=free pie crusts by Kinnikinnick, Down in the Valley and Grandma Ferdons. Grandma Ferdons is a gluten-free bakery out of Hayward, Wisconsin.   I have to say I have never tried Kinnikinnick’s crusts but Down in the Valley and Grandma Ferdons crusts are both very good.
