Super Easy Superfood Trail Mix

If you are looking for a quick pick me up snack on the go or in between meals, homemade trail mix is a good option.  You are choosing less sodium and sugar than some commercially made trail mixes.  I like to use superfood ingredients in mine to get a bit of nutritional bang for my buck.  This recipe I am sharing with you today does just that.  I use goji berries and dried cherries for their powerful antioxidants along with their sweetness. To get my chocolate fix, I added cacao nibs for all of the health benefits of dark chocolate without the sugar.  Sunflower seeds were added for protein and crunch as well as dried coconut for sweetness.  This mixture keeps well in an airtight container, making it ideal for travel. Place in a baggie in your purse or workout bag so you do not need to hit the vending machines when hunger hits.
