Vanilla Almond Milk
If you have never made homemade almond milk, you must try it at some point. It is much different tasting than store bought! This easy to make milk is cheaper too. All you need is a high speed blender, and a few other ingredients and you are set. One plus is you know what goes into your milk, and it is the purest and freshest almond milk you will ever taste. You can make plain, but vanilla is always classic and what I make the most often. It is a great non-dairy alternative, and your kids love it too. I have the recipe for vanilla here, but you can make chocolate if you add a few tablespoons of cacao powder to the recipe, or leave it plain if you prefer unsweetened.

Ingredients
Instructions
In a high speed blender, combine the almonds and water in a high speed blender and process for one minute. Pour into a nut milk bag or 3 layers of cheesecloth in a fine meshed strainer and squeeze the liquid out (if you have the cheesecloth, twist the top then squeeze the bottom) leaving the pulp behind. Add the strained milk back to the blender and add the vanilla and sweetener. Process until blended and serve! Store extra in the fridge. *If you wish to make plain almond milk, omit the vanilla and sweetener.
