Vanilla Maple Sunflower Seed Milk

Many people are going dairy free, and although there are a lot of good plant based milks on the market, did you know it is easy to make your own at home with a blender?  Almond milk is the old classic, but if you are allergic to nuts, sunflower seeds are a great alternative for a rich tasting plant based milk.  Bonus, they are high in antioxidants due to their high vitamin E content.  Also, sunflower seeds are cheaper than nuts, so it is very affordable to make if you drink a lot of milk.  The recipe I am sharing with you today is flavored with vanilla and maple, and is great with cereal or just for drinking on its own.  If you want an unsweetened plain sunflower seed milk, just leave out the maple syrup and vanilla. This is simple to make, and comes together in only 5 minutes!
