Relaxing Lavender Bath Soak

Bath salts are a good way to sooth sore tired muscles, and by making the mixture yourself, you know that you are getting only good quality ingredients and no artificial fragrances.  The recipe I am sharing with you today is a combination of sea salt, epsom salt and baking soda scented with lavender essential oil and it is just the thing to add to a bath to make it even more relaxing and beneficial to your body.  Because there is nothing like a relaxing warm bath before bed.  The aroma of lavender will relax your mind, and the salt will relax your muscles so that you can get a good nights sleep.

DIY Body Butter

Along with Winter comes dry and cracked skin.  So, we all end up wanting to slather ourselves in hydrating lotion!  Body butters are always nice for moisturizing dry hands, legs and arms and they are super luxurious!  Did you know it is easy to make your own at home, and scent it with your favorite essential oils?  Every Winter I make my own, and it keeps my skin soft.  The recipe I am sharing with you today combines shea butter, cacao butter, coconut oil and sweet almond oil for a mixture that is basically food for your skin nourishing it from the outside.  I never like to put anything on my skin that I wouldnt eat, because it is absorbed and if you are using things with chemicals they soak into your body tissues.  Trust me, you will feel much better when you eliminate chemicals from  your skin care routine and use things like this nourishing lotion.  As far as the essential oils you add to it go, add what you like.  I like mine with grapefruit and lavender for a fragrant citrusy Winter scent. Also, this makes a great gift if you put it into pretty little jars!
