Taylor Farms Organic Baby Kale Tray
There is a new salad tray around town, well at least in Fresh & Natural’s produce department. Organic kale just got a little bit more convenient. Taylor Farms just came out with organic baby kale in a tray or as we refer to it in the industry a clam shell. The product is so new in fact, Taylor Farms doesn’t even have it on their website.
Not familiar with kale? Kale, a leafy, green vegetable, is a powerhouse of nutrients. According to the George Mateljan Foundation for the World’s Healthiest Foods, kale has been associated with lowering the risk of these cancers: bladder, breast, colon, ovary, and prostate. There are further studies that suggest that kale helps with detoxing as well as containing 45 different flavonoids which provide both antioxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits. In case that wasn’t enough to convince you, it also has cholesterol-lowing benefits when eaten raw or steamed. But studies have showed it to be more effective in combating cholesterol when steamed.
