Beef Jerky Anyone?
It’s that great time of year again where the weather is perfect for camping, hiking, backpacking and all the other great outdoor activities. One staple my parents used to bring with us everywhere was beef jerky. As a gluten free adult, it has been very difficult to find such beef jerky. So I was so happy when our Meat/Seafood Manager at Fresh and Natural Foods-Shoreview told me we carry Grass Run Farms gluten free beef jerky. Grass run farms is located in Dorchester, Iowa. Their products are 100% grass fed with no antibiotics, hormones, or MSG. Grass Run Farms never feed their animal’s grain or animal byproducts. The beef jerky comes in four great flavors:
- Original
- Hot and Spicy
- Teriyaki
- Barbeque
I have tried and enjoyed both the original and the Teriyaki. They are not your typical dried out, hard to chew jerky rather they are still soft and moist. With a long shelf life, they are perfect for taking on those outdoor trips. I love products like this that make being gluten intolerance a little easier. Looking for more traditional gluten free organic jerky? Try Grateful Harvest Organic Jerky line. This is the standard chewy jerky. USDA certified organic, free of MSG, never fed animal-by products, no preservatives or nitrates and of course to make in this blog, gluten free. Grateful Harvest Organic Jerky also comes in four great flavors
- Original
- Bar-B-Que
- Peppered
- Teriyaki
I have tried the original flavor, and it was very good. It’s great to have so many choices, and see all the different options being made available to those of us with gluten issues. I hope you give these products a try and let us know if you liked them!
